Business Card Design is not just about ordinary bells and whistles but it involves allot more ergonomics to make this piece of card make wonders for your business. After all its the first impression that matters and a professionally designed Business card is a key to it.
Think not only about the quality of the graphic design, but also the material, shape and logistic which are involved in the whole process.
While our craving for design and print is endless as we keep on reviewing different print companies and their products occasionally to see how they can effectively work when printing a job for our clients.
Couple of weeks back after hearing much rave about Moo.com we thought about reviewing their business cards as this is considered their specialty, so we made a sample order of 50 classic cards to check them out with one of our colorful business card designs to see how it goes, 3 days back we received our order so below we have shared our experience with the whole process and quality of print and their card stock.
- Business Card Order Process:
The process was pretty hassle free however the only major difference is the size of cards. Moo is a European company and therefore their card sizes are not standard 3.5 x 2 inches, but instead its 3.3 x 2.16 . So its important to keep this is mind as we had to change the layout a little bit to fit their web specs.
- Delivery time and Packaging:
The time for standard shipping took a week ( well before ) the dates mentioned on their website. Below is the snap of the package as received from the post. Packaging again was pretty neat and impressive which kept the sides of the cards intact.

- Printing Quality and Paper Stock:
Paper stock was thick and sturdy while the matte finish was superb, the only drawback was that they don’t support “overprint” which means that graphic which are overlapped over other ( to make a different color shade and printing effect ) will not be printed, however if you preview the same design on your browser and on their website then it will show up fine, so you only figure this out once the cards are actually printed.
In short when we received our cards the graphic on the back of our card was completely missing while some testing overlay style patterns on the front were also missing. When this was brought to their attention they mentioned about the fact that their printing method don’t support this and offered us a free re-order with a coupon code ( a much appreciated gesture ). However we feel this should be mentioned on their website or during the order process when they detect an overlay in a vector file.

- Conclusion:
Despite the fact that the price of their business card printing is very high we can suggest it to some of our clients who need the cards in limited quantity ( as low as 50 ) as Moo offers a good short run digital printing option which not many companies can offer.
