Fuelmybrand has worked on several projects where we start with the parent company logo design and then upon client satisfaction complete logo design, corporate identity and branding for all their subsidiaries as well. Designing logos for multiple subsidiaries which falls under the parent company or holding company umbrella requires a good understanding of the business model and ability to match the scope of branding required. Below is an example of African Origin Group for whom we have completed logos for their parent company and 7 other subsidiaries which comes under the holding company.
African Origin Group Logo Design
Upon completing the parent company logo the client wanted us to move ahead and complete logos for other business subsidiaries one by one. As most of their businesses were operated from Africa and specially Ghana therefore they wanted this to be the main focus of the logo as suggested below.

You will see that in these logos we have primarily focused the African continent theme and the aspect of unity through the design style as company operates businesses in various regions of the continent. The colors are spread across the design and a cultural feel is added to these ideas as well along with a related business theme.
Typography is the heart and soul of logo design. If you take a look at big brand names and some of the famous company logos which we frequently see then you will realize that majority of them are simple type forms which are professionally and creatively worked together. This is the power of a strong and simple type design.
Today we will provide you a sneak peak into some of the different typesetting styles and typography arrangements which can transform a company logo into a well defined corporate identity.
Emblem style typography consists of graphic which is made up of initials or text from the company name. For example the famous “Toyota Emblem”. Below we have suggested a logo design which was completed for a coaching company which help transform results and people into top notch performers in their respective field of work. They wanted to work with “U” to represent its potential and how self believe can transform “YOUR” ordinary performance into extraordinary one. The name of the company and tag line are also suggested with the emblem design to show the true potential of the logo.

Custom Font Design:
The next topic is about custom tailored font design. This example will demonstrate how simple text can be re-written through typography which can enhance the image of the product itself. The PhoXpress logo design was completed for a noodle shop. The name itself is written in custom designed typeset which forms the shape of noodle to highlight the business while the title in the font ( Italicized ) signify the express delivery services which they provide. So in short the whole name is visually represented through the fonts without any additional graphic.

Type as a Branding Icon::
Arranging fonts or initials in such a way that the symbol itself resembles a graphic requires good technical skills and visualization practice. Our third example is a logo for a gaming company who wanted to use a gun in their logo. As the name was short so we set out to work on their initials and transformed them into the “Pistol Shaped Logo Design”.

TRAIN 1998 Logo Design
In my last post we had discussed about the differences between a logo design and Illustration project. So this time i took some liberty to feature and explain more about 3D styling in illustration and Character Illustration work which we can provide so if you need a new Mascot Design for your company or a Character Design to represent your product or brand then you know where to look for
Mascot of Character Design requires some in depth knowledge of the character itself which is important to communicate before a successful project is undertaken. So the first thing we do is discuss in detail about the specs and expectation of the character and what role is it going to play in the branding efforts of the company or campaign.
Once we know the design specs, work is started with basic preliminary drafts to get a feel for the design, which is then further brainstormed and this starts the illustration logo design or character design process. First we draft the ideas on paper, for instance i will show you a character show-reel which we have designed for a pizza company which is going to become their mascot and corporate identity. The process from sketching to final design is shown below to highlight how the process will work.

As you can see from the above illustration that it involves various stages which inspires the look, gestures, body language and theme of a character while in the end the marketing pitch is placed with the company product professionally integrated into the design.
